IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems: Special Issue on Aggregation Operators

Edited by G. Beliakov, T. Calvo and R. Mesiar

Aggregation operators (AGOP) play a fundamental role in fuzzy set theory. A lot of theoretical and applied research is performed in this field. Traditional aggregation operators such as the weighted average are now acknowledged as particular cases of more general families of aggregation operations, such as Choquet integrals. Triangular norms and conorms, uninorms, symmetric sums, OWA to name a few, are widely used families of AGOP. It seems, however, that many practitioners are unaware of a significant number of powerful aggregation tools developed by theoreticians, as evidenced by many works referring to a very limited set of classical AGOP. Therefore with agreement and support of editors of TFS we gave decided to prepare a special issue of TFS on aggregation operators.

The prepared special issue of TFS will be open for anyone, and the reviewing process will be standard.

    Topics of interest:
  • Examples of the use of aggregation operators (AGOPs) in applications
  • Behavioral analysis of AGOPs for applications
  • Analysis of properties of AGOPs
  • Application-driven construction of AGOPs
  • AGOPs in expert and decision support systems
  • AGOPs in group decision making
  • AGOPs in database queries, linguistic summaries, and association rules
  • Linguistic-quantifier-based aggregation
  • Identification of IGOPs from real data
  • Collective choice functions and consensus formation
