Women in Computational Intelligence

CIS is determined to ensure women the same opportunities as those of men in the Society's life. This committee is directed to offer these same opportunities by pro-actively operating in the various communities and in the Society's activities, initiatives, and events.

WCI has a committee, with members selected by the IEEE CIS every year, who organize and run the core activities; this is called the WCI-Committee. There is also the greater community of women in the CI field: this is called WCI-Community, and includes, in addition to the WCI-Committee, all women CIS members, plus IEEE Women-in-Engineering members, and other women who are in the CI field regardless of whether they are CIS members. The mailing list of all these people (WCI-Community) is used to distribute the WCI Newsletter. The WCI-Community is welcome to share their ideas, questions, concerns, stories, etc, with the WCI-Committee and with each other.

As a first step toward building a strong WCI community, you are invited to send contributions to the WCI Chair and Newsletter Editor, Fahmida Chowdhury.
