15 IEEE CIS T-shirts for Creating a New Chapter
Are you looking to organize a CIS Chapter in your IEEE Section ? Looking to organize seminars, lectures, technical visits, forums, panels, meetings, workshops, conferences, counseling, networking, and much more ? Then, we invite you to form a standalone or joint chapter in your region as soon as possible! Here is how it works.
Forming a standalone chapter usually involves either the collection of 12 signatures or more from members in your area (note that all members of Graduate Student Member or above may sign the petition -- only affiliate CIS members and IEEE student members may not sign the chapter petition) or working via a 2-step 2-year process to form a joint chapter through a "Change of Status" of an existing chapter in the first year and then spinning it off as the standalone CIS Chapter in the second year.
Forming a joint chapter is the best option if the number of members in your region is low (i.e. 4-10) and usually involves joining forces with another existing chapter to share the load with. These options could further be delved into by contacting the IEEE CIS Chapters Sub-Committee Chair.
Want to check if a chapter already exists in your region ? Then go to: http://ieee-cis.org/members/chapters/. If there is one in your area, then go out and actively participate in it, otherwise, form one of your own! You will discover that it will be one of the most exciting and rewarding accomplishments of your professional life. You will find many new colleagues and friends. You will discover a world of networking and opportunities for developing your career. You will have plenty of fun!
Want more incentive ? If you form a new chapter this year, IEEE CIS will send you 15 CIS logo shirts to be distributed to the newly formed chapter members (the shirts would be sent to the Chapter Chair for distribution).
