Conference Travel Grants
There are two types of Conference Travel Grants:
- IEEE CIS Outstanding Student-Paper Travel Grants
The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Student Travel Grant Program offers a limited number of travel grants to assist IEEE Student Members presenting papers at IEEE CIS sponsored conferences.
- IEEE CIS Conference Travel Grant Program for Researchers from Developing Countries
These very limited number of travel grants are used to assist higher-grade IEEE Members presenting papers at IEEE CIS sponsored conferences.
This year a total of seven major conferences are currently covered by this program. Conferences for 2008 include and are restricted to:
- 2008 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2008)

To receive a grant the recipient must
- Be a member of IEEE and IEEE Computational Intelligence Society prior to
submitting travel grant application.
- Be the author or co-author of an accepted paper in the conference and actually attend the conference and present the
paper.
- Must have contributed to at least 50% of the research presented.
- Attend the conference to present the paper.
- Be a student (or have
been at the time of paper submission deadline) and carry at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program as a registered undergraduate or graduate student in a
regular course of study.
Note: Only one student author per paper will be awarded a travel grant and a student can receive only one grant per year.
