IEEE CIS > Educational Activities

Multimedia Tutorials

CIS aims at

  • distributing fundamental knowledge in the area of computational intelligence,
  • disseminating technical know-how in specific case studies using computational intelligence,
  • developing and distributing new research results to promote new and exciting research areas, and
  • serving member needs in continuing education by providing seminars and lecture series.

These goals are achieved by managing the Multimedia Tutorials Center and by sponsoring tutorials in IEEE Expert Now.

Multimedia Tutorials Center (http://ewh.ieee.org/cmte/cis/mtsc/ieeecis/index.htm)

This web site makes available over 100 tutorials in PDF or PPT-based documents for free. Most of these are direct adaptations from tutorials presented at major international conferences sponsored or co-sponsored by the CIS. Audio-augmented tutorials are also available along with video plenary lectures and tutorials at CIS-sponsored conferences. Please, visit this collection and enjoy viewing many of our exciting tutorials. Your feedback is appreciated. If there is a topic of interest in computational intelligence that has not yet been developed, please contact the Multimedia Tutorials Sub-Committee Chair (contacts below).

IEEE Expert Now (http://ieee-cis.org/edu/expertnow/)

The CIS is proud to announce a collection of on-line courses developed by experts in the field. The modules offer an interactive learning experience delivered to your desktop. Check out the course catalog
(http://www.ieee.org/education_careers/education/ieee_course_catalog/view_course_catalog/index.html) that lists available modules and modules currently in development, so stay tuned! If you feel that a computational intelligence area is not sufficiently covered at beginners, intermediate or advanced levels, please contact the Multimedia Tutorials Sub-Committee Chair (contacts below).
