The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) is honored to announce the 2011 CIS Award recipients:
- Jose C. Principe is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Neural Networks Pioneer Award
- Hans J. Zimmermann is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Fuzzy Systems Pioneer Award
- Larry J. Eshelman is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award
- Patrick K. Simpson is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Meritorious Service Award
- Qingshan Liu and Jun Wang are the recipients of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Transactions on Neural Networks Paper Award for their paper entitled "A one-layer recurrent neural network with a discontinuous hard-limiting activation function for quadratic programming," published in IEEE TNN, vol. 19, no. 4, pp. 558-570, April 2008.
- Wang Francisco Herrera, Enrique Herrera-Viedma and Luis Martinez Lopez are the recipients of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Transactions on Fuzzy Systems Paper Award for their paper entitled "A fuzzy linguistic methodology to deal with unbalanced linguistic term sets," published in IEEE TFS, vol. 16, no. 2, pp. 354-370, April 2008.
- Siang Yew Chong, Peter Tino and Xin Yao are the recipients of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Transactions on Evolutionary Computation Paper Award for their paper entitled "Measuring Generalization Performance in Coevolutionary Learning," published in IEEE TEVC, vol. 12, no. 4, pp. 479-505, August 2008.
- The CIS Egypt Chapter is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Chapter Award
- Huanhuan Chen is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award
- Natural Selection, Inc. is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Organization Award (the first such award to be conferred)
- Oscar Cordon is the recipient of the 2011 IEEE CIS Outstanding Early Career Award (the first such award to be conferred)
