f=0002Welcome from the Past President Vincenzo Piuri Over the past few years the Computational Intelligence Society has gone through many transformations, experienced significant growth, and had many great achievements. Computational Intelligence became a full Society of the IEEE, thus obtaining full Society status and related responsibilities. New services were implemented for its members and, in general, for scientists and professionals in the fields of computational intelligence theory and applications. The Society started to raise its recognition of the outstanding scientists and professionals in their communities. Various new Transactions were launched in cooperation with other IEEE Societies. An incredible number of new specialized conferences have been periodically organized for the benefit of technical dissemination, scientific and professional networking. The Computational Intelligence Magazine was born and made it first public appearance at the beginning of this year to better serve all communities interested in our field. However, this is only the beginning of what we would like to do for our members, for the larger scientific and professional community, for the scientific and technological advancement of the field, and for worldwide economical development. The Computational Intelligence Society continuously strives to evolve and adapt its activities and products to better serve the needs of scientists and professionals in the various theoretical and applications areas of computational intelligence around the world. We are and we would like to continue to be the leading worldwide scientific and professional association in computational intelligence, by promoting technical activities, publications, conferences, education, and member services. We aim to be your reference point in computational intelligence: the Computational Intelligence Society would like to give you a place to call home.
